Home News room Peddling to Paris in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice
Acora is a UK based, award-winning IT services and technology company with over 25 years’ experience. We provide a range of IT support and Microsoft-centric business software and cloud solutions to help mid-market organisations modernise their IT so they can compete and win in the digital economy. More than 200 clients trust us to take responsibility for part, or all of their IT from solution design to support.
Three employees from leading IT Outsourcing Provider Acora have pledged to put their fitness to the test and join 8 other members as part of team KTDA, cycling from Worthing to Paris to raise £10,000 for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.
Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.
For the past 6 months, Acora’s Gary Page, David Hemmings and Matt Wood have been putting in the hours in the gym and on the roads around West Sussex in preparation for the 4 day challenge which takes place from 30th June – 4th July. Their fundraising efforts have been going well and they are currently just shy of reaching their £10,000 target.
Not for the faint hearted
A gruelling 4 days of awaits team KTDA in their quest to cover the 300 miles to Paris.
After making their way from Worthing to Dover on day 1, day 2 and three takes them across the undulating countryside of northern France to Beauvais. Day four will see them cycling through the outskirts of Paris, past the famous Paris Landmarks, reaching the Arc de Triomphe, their final destination, in the middle of the afternoon.
Taking up the challenge was the idea of Acora’s CFO, Gary Page.
“The majority of us used to play football together and we all hung our boots up a few years ago so I thought this ride was something we could all do together and at the same time raise money for a local charity. We know it will be a tough challenge but we intend to stick together as a team and try to motivate and encourage each other through the aches and pains all the way to Paris.’’Gary Page, CFO at Acora
