Home News room Why it’s worth upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017
Acora is a UK based, award-winning IT services and technology company with over 25 years’ experience. We provide a range of IT support and Microsoft-centric business software and cloud solutions to help mid-market organisations modernise their IT so they can compete and win in the digital economy. More than 200 clients trust us to take responsibility for part, or all of their IT from solution design to support.
Microsoft have been very innovative over the last five years, and the attention to their enterprise resource planning solution (Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017) and its mobile and integration capabilities proves this. Their focus has been on keeping everyone connected via cloud and value and it’s a reflection of how people are now using technology. A growing number of people wake up in the morning and the first thing they look at, is their mobile phone, so it’s vital to be able to stay connected all the time and Microsoft knows this.
Not only have Microsoft had to respond to consumer behaviour but they’ve also had to react to competition heating up. With SAP, SalesForce and Sage gaining ground, Microsoft have really had to pick up speed… and they have. The heavy investment made in Azure, power BI, new web clients, PowerApps and Cortana, are all ensuring their enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management solutions stay way ahead of the competition.
According to Microsoft, they host 55% of the 110,000 companies using Microsoft Dynamics NAV worldwide. And 20% of those companies (12,000 of them) are planning to migrate to Office 365 and Dynamics NAV 2017 in the next 24 months. This is an unprecedented number of companies migrating and upgrading, and therefore if you haven’t considering upgrading, you will fall behind the competition.
Thanks to the connectivity provided by Office 365 and Dynamics NAV deployed in the cloud, users now have access to their enterprise resource planning solution anywhere, and there are some great new features too.
You may have guessed from the above that Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Office 365 can work together, better than ever. SMBs now have access to great productivity improving Outlook add-ins. For example, based on an incoming email you can create a new sales or purchase document without leaving outlook. Simply open the add-in in Outlook for Dynamics NAV, this will provide you with the customer or vendor overview, which you can then use to create a new document. Then just hit send!
